I thought it might be fun to post a few photos from some of the shops I sell at. So without further ado, meet St. Louis' finest little boutique Maven. Isn't it adorable? The also adorable owner Kate makes her own unique soaps, candles, and skin care products. If you guys are ever going through be sure to stop in, the whole place is completely charming and smells good too. I got these photos from the facebook page, so you can also check that out if you would like.

the daybook in feathers

The adorable Sydney from daybook sported some of my feather earrings! Isn't she just the cutest?

one pair, three different colors

These earrings are not one of my newest designs, but they are some of my favorites because they are detailed and intricate. And I am now making them in three different colors! (Green, blue, purple, and well even yellow if you ask.) They feature hand twisted metal, and really clear glass-teardrop stones. The purple pair is made with a beautiful stone called amethyst, with a faceted briolette cut. To order click here.

i got a missed call last week

Ok so I just discovered these really adorable retro telephones here and I just love them! So, I thought I would share the link. Aren't they fun? Speaking of phones... I got a new phone number recently, and as a result I rarely get calls or texts. Anyway, recently I had accumulated a nice little pile of 11 missed voicemails. So I checked them, really excited and feeling oh so important! The first one was a little fuzzy; there was more than one voice, I couldn’t really make out what they were saying, and it was looong..after listening for a while I realized it was someone having a conversation with someone besides the person they were calling! It was in fact an accidental call… So was the next one, and the next one…one after another they were all, except maybe 1 or 2, not even meaning to call me! Or worse, they had meant to call me, but completely forgot about it by the time the voicemail came on! Important? I think not.

It reminds me of the short time I had a cell-phone as a kid. I shared it with my sister of course, and it was mainly just to call our mom when we needed to get picked up from ballet. Anyway, one of my older brothers needed a phone, so he talked my sister out of it. I on the other hand, wasn’t so easy to convince. He was like, “Come on Sarah, you are like 12 (actually 11, but thank you!), you don’t even get phone calls.” And I was like, “I do too!—I got a missed call last week!” Pathetic? Maybe. But I have admit although a lot of time has gone by since then, I can REALLY relate. Earlier today I was alone doing homework on the couch when I heard a glorious sound!... Was that buzzing?! Yes, indeed it was! Someone loves me! I ran into the kitchen, picked my phone up off of the table and started searching through it. For some reason there was no sign of a missed call or text, but the buzzing started up once again… I glanced down from my phone to where the noise was coming from: Skyler’s phone, that he just HAPPENED to leave at home on the table. Why were they call him anyway?? If they had called me, I would have answered! Ha ha. My friend Katy was telling me earlier this summer that the worst birthday she ever had was after she decided (a week before her birthday) that there was far too much info on her facebook page and that someone could potentially steal her identity. So, she started deleting information, yes, including her birthday. When her birthday rolled around no one called, no one sent her nice warm-fuzzies on facebook….nothing. Moral of the story: true friends remember your birthday—even if it’s not on facebook. And on a similar note, I am currently to the point where I am seriously considering making one of those "I lost my phone" groups on facebook. Comment to stop me...

very cool vintage necklace

bridal hair piece

Do you remember the bridal necklace here...well this is the hair piece to go with it. This piece is made with beautiful white feathers, natural pearls, tulle netting, and sparkly rhinestones. I had no idea how hard it was to find perfectly white feathers that didn't look like you just pulled them out of your down pillow. But I found the perfect ones; these feathers are really, really beautiful.

little vintage birds

I recently searched online for some vintage salt and pepper shakers in the shape of birds and found the perfect pair on Etsy. I totally love them! They are now nicely perched on my old clunker stove that is yellowing with age. Man, what they get away with in college apartments!...Anyway, it was at this very moment, while I was thinking about what a piece of junk my stove was, when all of a sudden in dawned on me…it isn’t junk!...It’s vintage! Then I starting thinking about how wonderful it was that my little vintage birds got to sit on a big vintage stove!

Point of story: look on the bright side. Vintage has become a magical word; you can call just about any old piece of junk vintage and it becomes somehow charming. Maybe you guys have already figured this out, but I thought I would share my new found discovery for anyone who hasn’t. This may be the key to your best and most positive year yet. You can thank me later.

Oh and I made yet another treasury! Here is a little preview, but check it the real thing here!

colour my world

Hey guys! I just did a new treasury on Etsy and apparently I am sick of the white and gray tones of freezing Idaho, because it has a LOT of color! Hope you enjoy it! P.S. Isn’t that ring to die for? I love it! If times get desperate I might just print out a picture of it and tape it around my finger ha ha. Click here to view it!

chic feather earrings

These earrings are hand twisted and feature the beautiful spotted guinea feather, a turquoise howlite gemstone, and sterling-plated earwires. These earrings are pictured on the beautiful Ciera. I loved photographing this girl, she just did her own thing and looked gorgeous while doing it. To order click here. Have a great day!

polariod coasters

These are the Polaroid-coasters I made during the Christmas break. I used some pictures from our wedding, fun trips, other random occasions, and of course the one of my husband and I with our adorable “wittle wion” (that means “little lion” for anyone who doesn’t speak "this is too cute for adult language"). I kind of want to adopt him. I wonder if my parents will approve of that... one thing I will have to keep in mind is that this photo was taken almost a year and a half ago—and although he was drinking out of a bottle then, he is probably not so cute and large enough to eat me for brunch by now.

ANYWAY, I have to admit I am pretty proud of these little coasters. Initially the purpose was to protect the tables from water damage, but I am kind of nervous about how I will react the first time a guest puts their glass on one… “Uh, no…Oh, um, sorry, just put it, just put it right there on the table please.” Thinking to myself how rude! How dare they put the bottom of their glass on my husband’s face?! Next project: tiling the bathroom with pictures of myself and the wittle wion… that was a joke. Or was it? I am sure it would bring up the property value of our apartment…Don’t you think?

wedding jewelry

Ok here is the latest piece I have been working on. It is a vintage inspired bridal necklace for this adorable soon-to-be-bride I came across on Etsy. The necklace features glass and freshwater pearls, a vintage sterling silver chain with rhinestones, a sterling plated chain, lace, and a lovely bow finding. Hope you like it! My sister is a model and I was with her most of the break, however, with all the fun and excitement we didn’t get around to taking any photos. So…Yes, this necklace is pictured on me :) Happy new year!
