Caution: high waters

Here are some more of the photos from the wedding in this post. So my husband and I just got back from a really wonderful trip to D.C. with the a completely flooded apartment. They tore up all the floors and portions of the walls and currently have heavy duty fans drying the framework. I think my favorite part of all of this was having 6 fully grown men, wearing waders and gloves, going through my clothing—well, uh, that’s not awkward. Anyway, we now have most of our belongings in a nice large pile quarantined from the contamination. Life. Is. Good. No really, it is. I think these experiences really help put life in perspective; a lot of this stuff just doesn’t matter. Besides, let’s look on the bright side, the terrible yellowing 60’s vinyl on the kitchen floor went completely unharmed. That stuff truly is invincible. I am thinking of contacting the army, because they should really consider using it for tank material.

  1. Oh no! I'm sorry that happened to you. BTW your pics are gorgeous! I laughed at the last comment about the vinyl floor, miss you! Wish I was around to help you with your apt and stuff :(

  2. ahhh! I'm cracking up... and almost crying... both at the same time. I'm so sorry! But really, the six men in waders is a memorie that makes it ALMOST worth it. Honestly. love you.
